Thursday 27th October 2011 - The opening of the 6th International Rome Film Festival
The 6th edition of the International Rome Film Festival opened on Thursday 27th October with The Lady by Luc Besson. Simon J Lycett Ltd are thrilled to be involved in the Festival and to have been commissioned to design this years Red Carpet backdrop on the theme of “Punks and Patriots.”
Simon writes:
“My vision is of a series of vast, deconstructed British flags, created using mixed media to include reclaimed metal and steel and with “living” accents provided using fruit and vegetables to give a slightly irreverent and also a light-hearted feel. The harmony of disharmony, so characteristic of the eclectic Punk era, will be evoked by this representation of an anti-establishment flag!”
