Simon brought buckets and buckets of fabulous spring flowers to Angell Town in Brixton on Friday 17th March 2017 to help launch the start of this year's RHS National Greening Grey Britain competition. This year, for the first time, the RHS and The One Show are inviting bids to win the 2017 RHS Chelsea Flower Show Greening Grey Britain Garden and bring a little beauty into a grey urban area.

Having given a tour of the fabulous New Covent Garden Market in its new premises, Simon welcomed more than 30 delegates from Chapel Designers to the workroom on Wednesday 5th April 2017. Simon gave a fabulous demonstration in the House & Garden Workshop Theatre at the Spirit of Christmas fair in Olympia, London on Tuesday 1st November at 1.30pm and again on Thursday 3rd November at 2.45pm. Colourburst 2016

What a treat this Residential Weekend was for NAFAS members which ran from Friday 4 – Sunday 6 November 2016 at Leicester Marriott Hotel. Simon was delighted to be invited to do a special floral presentation on Saturday afternoon which was packed and bursting with sumptuous colour and creativity. A special treat for all was that Honorary Patron of NAFAS Nicki Chapman was delighted to be sharing the stage with Simon reliving many stories from their Chelsea Flower Show days.

RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2016

Simon had a packed diary at this year's RHS Chelsea Flower Show.  Monday 23rd was most exciting as Simon created the royal posies as he did last year. But this year, he was filmed doing so by the BBC. Helping him create the posies was Tavesha Steele, 6 years old, from Angell Town in Brixton. Angell Town is part of the Greening Grey Britain campaign by the RHS. Tavesha presented HMThe Queen, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie  with a bouquet of flowers at the Green Grey Britain Garden designed by Anne Marie Powell.

RHS Chelsea Flower Show

RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2014

Simon had a wonderful time at Chelsea this year. Having been filmed for the Chelsea Preview Show on Sunday 18th May decorating the Natural  History Museum for a very special Client's birthday, Simon was back on the BBC presenting with Nicki Chapman the first day of Chelsea, Monday 19th May, showing how colourful and attractive vegetables can be in a floral decoration.

CFSRona5

After an exciting Wednesday afternoon on BBC Radio London's Jo Good show (more of which below), Simon and Nicki got together a second time on the Friday. On this occasion it was the turn of Steve Traffic to help out! Steve is a familiar and well loved face at Chelsea who directs the traffic. So it was appropriate that Steve's decorative vase was an upturned traffic cone! All appreciated the gorgeous florals on display, especially the three humorous "traffic lights" Simon had created: green, amber and red.

   CFS20142

Simon was asked by the RHS to create a decorative floral feature for the Floral Art Marquee entrance.  The design was modelled upon this year's Show Logo and is incredible from afar but the colour and texture must be viewed at close range too - stunning!
